Estevao urged to play more minutes at Chelsea

Former Chelsea striker Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink has urged manager Xabi Alonso to increase the playing time of 19-year-old forward Estevao. Hasselbaink described the Brazilian as a ‘super talent’ and ‘exceptional,’ suggesting that Alonso could integrate him into the lineup by switching to a 4-3-3 formation to accommodate him alongside Joao Pedro, Cole Palmer, and Morgan Rogers.

Estevao, who joined Chelsea from Palmeiras in 2025, has struggled to secure starts under Alonso, with his only two appearances this season occurring in the Carabao Cup. This lack of minutes follows a season-ending hamstring injury in April that prevented him from participating in the World Cup.

While Estevao is reportedly ‘frustrated’ and ‘angry’ regarding his current situation, he is not currently expected to leave London. However, Spanish media have linked the attacker with a move to Barcelona, prompting speculation about his future at Stamford Bridge if his involvement in the Premier League does not increase.
