Estivella cycling crash leaves two riders seriously injured

A mass crash involving approximately 40 cyclists occurred during the II Clàssica Camp de Morvedre-Estivella, a junior road cycling championship in the Valencian Community. The incident took place around 10:25 AM on a descent of the N-234 highway between Torres Torres and Estivella, after participants had completed roughly 21 kilometers of the 91-kilometer course.

The accident was triggered by a lateral collision between two cyclists leading the peloton, resulting in a chain reaction. Ten cyclists were evacuated to various hospitals; eight sustained minor injuries, while two were reported to have serious injuries, including various fractures.

The Guardia Civil's Traffic Group responded to the scene, activating emergency protocols and coordinating with the 112 Emergency Coordination Center of the Generalitat Valenciana. Officers provided first aid and established a safety perimeter to assist medical teams in managing the injured riders.
