Cycling accident in Valencian Community

Overview

A mass crash occurred during the II Clàssica Camp de Morvedre-Estivella, a junior road cycling championship in the Valencian Community. The incident, triggered by a collision between two lead cyclists on a descent of the N-234 highway, resulted in a chain reaction involving approximately 40 participants.

Ten cyclists were evacuated to hospitals. While eight sustained minor injuries, two riders were reported to have sustained serious injuries, including various fractures. The Guardia Civil's Traffic Group and the 112 Emergency Coordination Center of the Generalitat Valenciana coordinated the emergency response and medical assistance.
