Estonian PM Kaja Kallas urges withdrawal of Russian troops from Moldova and Georgia
Estonia’s prime minister Kaja Kallas called for the immediate removal of Russian forces from the Republic of Moldova and Georgia, saying the occupations must end. She warned that any future negotiations over the war in Ukraine should not overlook the presence of Russian troops in Transnistria, Abkhazia and South Ossetia, arguing that a peace agreement must apply symmetric limits to Russia as well as to Ukraine.
Kallas emphasized that Russia’s military presence is an occupation, not a historical tenancy, and that Europe should treat these territories as integral parts of the affected states rather than peripheral footnotes in diplomatic talks.
