Estonian police detain six suspects for organizing illegal migration
Estonian police have detained six individuals suspected of organizing illegal migration following several intercepted vehicles. The suspects are accused of transporting 19 foreign nationals into the country without legal basis.
Between October 3 and October 6, authorities conducted multiple operations. In Tori Parish, a German national was detained after police found seven men from Morocco and Somalia in a Volvo. In Paldiski North Port, border guards discovered three men from Eritrea and Ethiopia hidden under a blanket in the trunk of an Audi; the driver, a Ukrainian national, was detained for using a forged driver's license.
Additional incidents occurred in Häädemeeste, where two Pakistani nationals with Lithuanian residence permits were detained while transporting two Somali nationals, and on the Tallinn-Tartu-Luhamaa highway, where a Bulgarian national was detained after police found seven men from third countries in a Kia Sportage. The prosecutor's office is seeking the arrest or immediate punishment of the six suspects through expedited proceedings.
