ETF industry sees record US launches and growth outlook in Europe
The U.S. exchange‑traded fund (ETF) market is on track for another record year, with 868 new ETF launches reported through July 27. Single‑stock and artificial‑intelligence funds have been especially popular, and large products such as the Global X Robotics & Artificial Intelligence ETF (BOTZ), Roundhill Memory ETF (DRAM) and ProShares GENIUS Money Market ETF have amassed tens of billions of dollars in assets. Industry analysts expect the launch pace to continue, while noting that only a fraction of new funds will survive long‑term.
In Europe, the ETF market is moving away from the perception of lagging the United States. Executives say the next five years will be defined more by who uses ETFs than by which products are offered. Retail adoption is expected to rise sharply as pension reforms, digital investment platforms, sustainable‑investing trends and cross‑border distribution frameworks evolve. Fintech‑driven distribution models and synthetic‑ETF replication are seen as key drivers of Europe’s distinct growth trajectory.
