Seven armed opposition groups in Ethiopia have announced the formation of the Ethiopian Peoples’ Forces Alliance for Survival. The alliance, which includes the Tigray People’s Liberation Front (TPLF), the Oromo Liberation Army (OLA), and the Amhara Fano National Movement, aims to overthrow Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed and establish a transitional administration.

Analysts note that while the alliance may not yet constitute a single, unified military force capable of seizing the capital, it integrates several disparate regional conflicts into a shared political and military framework. This coordination could force government troops to defend multiple fronts simultaneously.

Violence continues in several regions. In southern Tigray, drone strikes on two schools in Alamata reportedly killed 14 civilians and wounded 22, though these figures have not been independently verified. Additionally, Tigrayan forces have reportedly seized control of the Alula Aba Nega International Airport in Mekelle.
