Etihad Airways to launch Gothenburg-Abu Dhabi flights

Etihad Airways has announced the launch of a new flight route connecting Gothenburg, Sweden, to Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. Starting December 17, 2026, the service will operate four times per week and is scheduled to run until March 21, 2027.

This expansion marks the first direct connection from the Gothenburg region to Asia and establishes Etihad as the only Gulf-based carrier providing scheduled flights to the city. Passengers will be able to connect through Zayed International Airport to various Asian and Indian destinations, including Bangkok, Singapore, Shanghai, and Bengaluru.

The route will utilize Airbus A321LR aircraft, which are configured with 160 seats, including two First Class suites, 14 Business Class seats, and 144 Economy seats. The aircraft will also feature high-speed Wi-Fi across all cabins.
