Etihad Airways service expansion
Overview
Etihad Airways has announced expansions to its flight services, including a new seasonal route connecting Gothenburg, Sweden, to Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. Scheduled to begin on December 17, 2026, and run until March 21, 2027, the Gothenburg service will operate four times per week using Airbus A321LR aircraft. This route provides the Gothenburg region with its first direct connection to the Middle East and Asia.
In addition to the Gothenburg expansion, the airline is increasing capacity on its Brussels to Abu Dhabi route. Starting December 15, 2026, flight frequency between Brussels and Abu Dhabi will increase from seven to 11 weekly flights.
