EU agencies discuss migration support for Spain in Ceuta

European Commissioner for Home Affairs and Migration, Magnus Brunner, met with representatives from Frontex, Europol, and the European Union Asylum Agency (EUAA) to discuss current and future support for Spain regarding the migration crisis in Ceuta. Brunner expressed gratitude for the agencies' work and reiterated their readiness to provide necessary assistance.

Brussels is currently awaiting a formal request from the Spanish government to access additional funding, the exact amount of which has not yet been determined. This follows an initial needs assessment provided by Spanish authorities last week. The European Commission indicated that this financial support could be used to fund border management equipment and services, as well as humanitarian and medical assistance. Some of this aid may also be channeled directly through the European agencies.
