EU and EBRD provide funding for Montenegro highway and Balkan digitalization

The Government of Montenegro has approved an amendment to a grant agreement with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) to fund the construction of the Mateševo–Andrijevica section of the Bar–Boljare highway. The EBRD has agreed to provide non-refundable funds totaling up to 147.4 million euros from the Instrument for Pre-accession Assistance. The European Union intends to provide a total of 150 million euros in financial support, which includes the grant, 600,000 euros for technical assistance, and a 2 million euro grant management fee retained by the EBRD.

In Bosnia and Herzegovina, Addiko Bank d.d. Sarajevo, in collaboration with the EBRD and the European Union, has launched the ‘Go Digital in the Western Balkans’ program. This initiative supports micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in modernizing their operations through automation, digitalization, and green technologies. The program offers investment financing with incentives of up to 10% of the investment value, with credit lines for eligible SME clients reaching up to 1,000,000 euros.
