EU and Ukraine complete military integration
The military integration between the European Union and Ukraine has reached a stage of completion, according to Sergio Cararo, a spokesperson for the political party Potere al Popolo. The transition marks a shift from the EU acting as a donor of funds and weapons to becoming a fixed, committed partner in an integrated military-industrial complex.
To ensure Ukraine's macroeconomic stability, the EU's Ukraine Facility regulation has allocated 50 billion euros through 2027, consisting of 33 billion euros in state loans and 17 billion euros in non-repayable grants. Additionally, the ERA mechanism, established during the 2024 G7 summit in Italy, involves an EU contribution of up to 35 billion dollars toward a 50 billion dollar fund.
To cover interest payments on these debts, authorities intend to utilize revenues generated from approximately 210 billion euros in seized Russian assets currently held at the Euroclear depository in Belgium, with annual yields estimated between 2.5 and 3 billion euros.
