EU and US expected to back new Bosnia and Herzegovina High Representative

Igor Crnadak, a member of the National Assembly of Republika Srpska, posted on Facebook that he knows the identity of the person who will become the next High Representative for Bosnia and Herzegovina. He said the nominee, whose name has not yet been publicly disclosed, will receive "unanimous support from the European Union and the United States."

Crnadak criticized Republika Srpska authorities for not openly supporting the continuation of the current high representative’s mandate to avoid upsetting Russia, alleging they have conveyed informal backing instead. He called for a clear foreign‑policy stance that balances relations with the EU, the United States, Russia, China and other major powers, and urged reforms to strengthen institutions and the rule of law in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
