EU beer production reaches 34.4 billion liters in 2025
European Union beer production reached 34.4 billion liters in 2025, according to data released by Eurostat. This figure represents a 0.7% decrease compared to 2024, though it remains 2.2% higher than levels recorded in 2020.
Germany maintained its position as the largest producer in the EU, accounting for 7.4 billion liters, or 21.6% of the total sold production. Spain followed as the second-largest producer with 5.3 billion liters (15.5% market share), followed by Poland with 3.5 billion liters (10.2%). The top five producers—including the Netherlands with 2.4 billion liters and France with 2.1 billion liters—collectively represent approximately 60% of the EU's total beer production.
Regarding alcohol content, 94% of the production (32.3 billion liters) consisted of beer with an alcohol content exceeding 0.5%. Beer with an alcohol content below 0.5%, including non-alcoholic varieties, accounted for 2.1 billion liters.
