EU Commission Rejects Save Europe Act Remigration Initiative

Activists led by Dutch politician Eva Vlaardingerbroek and Austrian activist Martin Sellner gathered more than one million verified signatures from at least seven EU member states to propose the “Save Europe Act.” The draft legislation called for a moratorium on non‑Western migration, mass deportations of groups deemed a burden, EU‑wide expulsions, and a sharp cut in social benefits for migrants.

The European Commission formally rejected the initiative, stating that the proposal discriminates on the basis of ethnicity or race and conflicts with EU values and the Charter of Fundamental Rights. In response, the campaign organizers announced the “European Shield” tour, beginning in Utrecht on 1 August and travelling across Europe, including a stop in Ljubljana, to rally supporters and continue promoting the remigration agenda despite the Commission’s decision.
