EU Election Observation Mission finds no fraud in Colombian and Peruvian votes

The European Union Election Observation Mission (EU‑MOE) deployed about 150 observers from 24 EU member states, plus Norway, Switzerland and Canada, to monitor Colombia's 2026 congressional elections. After extensive field work, the mission reported that the electoral process complied with international standards and Colombian law, stating “no irregularities” were detected and describing the system as “absolutely regular”. The observers noted that, while isolated cases of vote‑buying and pressure were reported—particularly in local contests in the Caribbean region—these did not affect the overall integrity of the vote.

In Peru, the EU‑MOE issued a similar statement after observing the second round of the presidential election. The mission categorically rejected claims of fraud, finding no evidence of vote manipulation at any stage of the count or technical processing. It called on political leaders and supporters to respect the results and use legal channels for any disputes, and announced that the mission will remain vigilant until its final report is delivered in August 2026.
