EU-funded cross-border projects launch in Moldova and Romania

Several cross-border initiatives funded by the European Union's INTERREG programs have been launched to improve healthcare and digital safety in Eastern Europe.

In Moldova, the CONNECT project (Connect for People's Health) has been launched by the Anenii Noi District Council in partnership with the Botoșani County Council from Romania. With a total budget of approximately 1.46 million euros, the 24-month project aims to ensure equal access to medical assistance and improve healthcare quality in the cross-border region. Key activities include rehabilitating medical infrastructure, equipping facilities with new medical and IT equipment, and facilitating professional experience exchanges for medical staff. Beneficiaries include the Podriga Neuropsychiatric Sanatorium and the Anenii Noi Health Center.

In Romania and Ukraine, the CROSS-EDU Link project has been initiated to enhance digital safety for children. Led by the ANA Charity and Mutual Aid Foundation in Suceava, the 18-month project is funded through the INTERREG VI-A NEXT Romania-Ukraine program. The initiative, valued at approximately 417,712 euros, focuses on supporting families in managing online risks and improving the digital resilience of children through collaborative efforts between Romanian and Ukrainian institutions.
