Privacy activist group Noyb demanded that the European Commission repeal the EU‑US Data Privacy Framework, arguing that the United States no longer provides an independent oversight authority. The call follows a U.S. Supreme Court ruling that declared the Federal Trade Commission’s independence unconstitutional, effectively “collapsing” the FTC’s role as a data‑privacy regulator. Noyb and Green Party digitalisation spokesperson Süleyman Zorba said the decision destroys the foundation of the EU‑US data‑transfer agreement, which permits the export of personal data to the United States.
