EUFOR conducts rapid parachute deployment exercise in Bosnia and Herzegovina

EUFOR forces conducted a parachute landing at Mostarsko blato as part of the multinational military exercise ‘Quick Response 2026’. The operation was designed to demonstrate the ability to rapidly deploy and relocate additional forces within Bosnia and Herzegovina.

A platoon from the Italian ‘Folgore’ paratrooper brigade participated in the exercise, having been transported via military aircraft directly from Pisa, Italy, to Bosnia and Herzegovina. EUFOR Commander Lieutenant General Maurizio Fronda noted that the activity showcased how quickly the mission can respond to emergencies, stating that the aircraft arrived from Italy only minutes before the deployment was executed.

Fronda indicated that this type of exercise is a first for the region in this specific format. Future operations are planned, including joint jumps involving both Italian and Dutch paratroopers in the Mostar area.
