Eurobank executes share buybacks and issues new green bond

Eurobank has announced several significant financial activities, including a major share buyback program and the issuance of a new green bond.

Between August 24 and August 28, 2026, the bank acquired 1,077,536 of its own shares through Euronext Athens. These transactions had an average purchase price of €4.5820 per share, totaling approximately €4.94 million. Following these purchases, Eurobank holds a total of 23,578,211 treasury shares.

In a separate move to strengthen its Minimum Requirement for Own Funds and Eligible Liabilities (MREL), Eurobank is issuing a new seven-year Senior Preferred green bond. The issuance is expected to be rated Baa1 by Moody’s and BBB- by S&P. The transaction involves several underwriters, including Barclays, Commerzbank, HSBC, Natixis, and Société Générale.

Additionally, the bank has completed the 8th phase of its stock option program for management and staff. This program resulted in the issuance of 6,555,561 new common shares with a nominal value of €0.22 each, offered at a price of €0.23 per share.
