Eurocaja Rural and Recamder commit 60 million euros to rural development in Castilla‑La Mancha

On 13 July 2026 in Toledo, Eurocaja Rural and the Red Castellano‑Manchega de Desarrollo Rural (Recamder) signed a financial cooperation agreement that makes up to €60 million available for new, expanded or modernised enterprises in the rural areas of Castilla‑La Mancha. The pact, signed by Eurocaja Rural president Javier López Martín and Recamder president Jesús Ortega Molina, allows beneficiaries to receive advance financing covering up to 90 % of the aid granted by Local Development Groups, and provides personal or mortgage loans covering up to 70 % of project investment. Specific credit lines can fund equipment, vehicles or furniture for up to 100 % of the invoice (excluding VAT). The agreement also offers credit guarantees for Recamder’s Local Action Groups to maintain cash flow and speed up payments to rural entrepreneurs.

Regional officials, including the Councilor of Agriculture, Livestock and Rural Development Julián Martínez Lizán and the General Director of Rural Development José Juan Fernández Zarco, highlighted the partnership’s role in combating financial exclusion and boosting economic activity in depopulated municipalities. Eurocaja Rural, with 311 branches covering more than one office per three municipalities and about 30 % of its network located in villages of fewer than 2 000 inhabitants, underlines its long‑standing commitment to rural cohesion and quality of life.
