EuroLeague CEO reports no official NBA proposal for collaboration

EuroLeague CEO Chus Bueno has stated that the organization has not yet received an official proposal from the NBA regarding a potential collaboration. While Bueno emphasized that the EuroLeague remains open to partnerships that could benefit the development of European basketball, he noted that non-disclosure agreements prevent the league from commenting on specific details until a joint decision is made.

Despite the lack of a formal offer, the EuroLeague is moving forward with its own expansion plans. The league aims to grow to 24 teams by the 2027-28 season, targeting major European markets such as Paris, London, Milan, and Naples. As part of a transition to a new franchise model, investors have reportedly submitted binding proposals totaling approximately 700 million euros in franchise fees. The EuroLeague appears prepared to operate independently and compete alongside NBA Europe if a collaborative agreement is not reached.
