EuroLeague and NBA European basketball landscape

While the NBA and FIBA plan to launch a 16-team NBA Europe league by the 2027-28 season, NBA Commissioner Adam Silver has expressed optimism regarding the possibility of achieving some form of consolidation within the European market. To bolster its position, the EuroLeague is considering expanding from 20 to 24 teams for the 2027-28 season, targeting major markets such as Paris, London, Milan, and Naples.
