Europe heatwave brings summer warmth to UK and extreme temperatures to Spain

The United Kingdom is expected to see a brief return of summer-like warmth, with temperatures potentially reaching 28C in parts of southeast England. This temperature spike is driven by southerly winds bringing hot, humid air from continental Europe.

In contrast to the UK's moderate warmth, parts of central and southern Europe are experiencing intense heat. Spain has recorded extreme temperatures, including 45.7C in Huelva, while southern France is seeing temperatures in the high 30s, with some areas potentially touching 40C.

While the south experiences warmth, northern Scotland may face different conditions, including heavy rain and wind gusts of up to 45mph due to approaching low pressure.
