European Commission approves France’s final €6.1 billion RRF payment

The European Commission has approved France’s fifth and final payment request of €6.1 billion under the NextGenerationEU Recovery and Resilience Facility (RRF). This approval follows the successful implementation of all reforms and investments associated with France’s €40.3 billion recovery plan.

The fulfilled milestones and targets cover several sectors, including transport infrastructure, hydrogen, the digitalization of public services, and the modernization of healthcare facilities. Key measures include the energy renovation of over 1,000 public buildings and nearly 400,000 private homes, the renovation of more than 140 cathedrals and historical monuments, and increased public research funding to support the economy.
