European Day of Languages celebrated in Polish schools

Schools in Poland have held various activities to celebrate the European Day of Languages, focusing on the theme ‘Languages unite’.

At the Ekonomik School Complex in Ostrowiec Świętokrzyski, students and staff participated in a multi-part event involving geography quizzes, musical language recognition, and culinary challenges. Participants attempted to identify European dishes and songs in different languages, with top performers receiving diplomas and grade vouchers for foreign language classes.

In another celebration, students engaged in cultural displays using posters and lapbooks representing different nations. Some eighth-grade students attended workshops on mnemonic techniques conducted by experts from the Department of Applied Linguistics at Maria Curie-Skłodowska University (UMCS).
