European Energy wins German wind auctions as Verbund develops hydrogen hub

European Energy has secured 89.6 MW of onshore wind capacity through four projects in a German Federal Network Agency auction. These projects have obtained long-term remuneration support, providing revenue visibility necessary for securing financing and moving toward construction.

In a separate energy development, Verbund and EWE AG are collaborating on a joint venture to create the ‘CHC Electrolysis JadeWeser’ hydrogen hub. The project features an electrolyzer with a capacity of up to 500 megawatts, aiming to produce approximately 50,000 tons of green hydrogen annually. The facility is intended to connect to the future core hydrogen network, potentially supplying the industrial, mobility, and energy sectors starting in 2032.
