Tom Morello Cancels Remaining European Tour to Care for Hospitalized Mother

Guitarist Tom Morello announced the cancellation of the rest of his European tour after his 102‑year‑old mother, Mary, was hospitalized. He said he must return to the United States to look after her, ending his appearances at the Tons of Rock Festival in Oslo and the BBK Music Legends Festival in Bilbao. Earlier in the month he had already postponed shows in London and Paris, citing a family emergency, and had managed to perform at the Pinkpop festival in the Netherlands, a concert in Nijmegen, and a set at Copenhell in Denmark before the final cancellation. Ticket holders for the Norwegian and Spanish dates will receive refunds.

Morello expressed gratitude to fans and pledged to resume touring when possible, noting the importance of family responsibilities over his scheduled performances.
