European milk prices remain stable in June 2026 despite DMK price drop

European milk prices remained largely stable in June 2026, according to data from the European Dairy Farmers (EDF) and ZuivelNL. The average standard milk price was 40.04 euros per 100 kg, representing a marginal decrease of 0.10 euros from May. However, long-term trends show prices are more than 20 percent lower than the same month in the previous year.

In Germany, the Deutsches Milchkontor (DMK) experienced a significant price drop, with rates falling by 1.99 euros to 39.55 euros per 100 kg. This decline is attributed to changes in pricing methodology following a merger with Arla Foods. Despite this, DMK's 12-month average remains at 44.44 euros, which is above the comparison average.

Other major players showed different results. Hochwald Milch maintained a stable payout of 36.96 euros per 100 kg, the lowest among the German companies mentioned. Meanwhile, Arla Foods and FrieslandCampina remained near the European average, with FrieslandCampina offering 40.28 euros per 100 kg.
