European Rabbit Meat Days to return to Hungary
The second annual European Rabbit Meat Days will be held in Hungary on November 21–22. The event aims to revitalize the consumption of rabbit meat, which has become rare in Hungarian households despite the country being a significant producer in Europe.
According to the Hungarian Rabbit Product Council, approximately 92 percent of the rabbit meat produced in Hungary is exported. Domestic consumption remains extremely low, at only 0.05 kilograms per capita annually. The initiative seeks to reintroduce this lean, nutrient-rich protein to the culinary scene, following the success of the inaugural event in 2025 which involved 32 participating restaurants.
