The first edition of the European T20 Premier League (ETPL) is scheduled to begin on August 26, featuring franchise teams across several European cities. Former India captain and co‑owner Rahul Dravid highlighted the league’s role in providing a platform for local talent, noting Europe’s rich cricket tradition and vibrant club culture. South African ex‑captain Faf du Plessis also joined as co‑owner and player for the Rotterdam Dockers.

Glasgow Cosmic, a new franchise, is preparing its debut under bowling coach Varun Aaron. Aaron said the team aims to leave a lasting imprint on Glasgow’s cricket ecosystem by engaging with local academies and communities before the first match. The squad includes international players such as Finn Allen, Ali Khan, Lungi Ngidi, Paul van Meekeren and Keshav Maharaj, with additional options like Liam Livingstone and Kamindu Mendis.
