European T20 Premier League inaugural season

The European T20 Premier League (ETPL) announced that its first edition will begin on 26 August 2026, featuring six city‑based franchises across Europe. Initial details highlighted the involvement of former international players such as Rahul Dravid and Faf du Plessis as co‑owners and players, and introduced new teams like Glasgow Cosmic, with a roster that mixes global T20 stars and European talent.

A few days later the league opened ticket sales and released the full schedule. Ticketing will be handled by Tixr, and matches will be played at Voorburg Cricket Club in the Netherlands and Malahide Cricket Club in Ireland. The opening fixtures pit the Rotterdam Dockers against the Amsterdam Flames, followed by an all‑Irish clash and a Scottish derby. High‑profile owners, including Jonty Rhodes, John Abraham and Steve Waugh, were confirmed, and the tournament will showcase stars such as Steve Smith, Glenn Maxwell and Ravichandran Ashwin alongside local players.
