European Theater Festivals Launch in Germany and Greece

The Theaterhaus Jena in Germany is preparing its annual summer spectacle for the opening of the Kulturarena 2026, featuring the new production “Kassandra: coming of age at the end of the world.” Director Azeret Koua and choreographer Jasmin Avissar describe the show as a coming‑of‑age tale that questions societal rules, with a revised schedule that starts at 20:00 and includes an integrated intermission.

Meanwhile, Greece’s Olymp‑Festival is entering its performance phase after a year of planning by roughly 150 volunteers. The festival, held at historic sites such as the ancient theater of Dion, offers a multi‑week program of international guest performances and classical productions, relying on extensive volunteer coordination and creative problem‑solving to deliver the summer cultural showcase.
