European Union approves new aviation passenger rights regulations

The European Union has approved new aviation regulations aimed at updating passenger rights after 13 years. These changes affect baggage, travel with children, and the use of return tickets if the first flight was not boarded.

According to the consumer organization dTest, passengers will retain their right to compensation for flights delayed by more than three hours or cancelled less than 14 days before departure. The compensation amounts remain unchanged, ranging from 250 to 600 euros depending on the flight distance. A new deadline has also been established, allowing passengers nine months from the original flight time to submit claims for damages.
