European Union condemns West Bank settler violence

The European Union has renewed its condemnation of ongoing settler attacks against Palestinian citizens across the West Bank. Shadi Othman, the EU spokesperson for Palestine, stated that these incidents occur almost daily from the north to the south of the territory and have exceeded acceptable limits.

Othman noted that the EU is continuously discussing the issue of settler violence, with several European nations calling for additional practical steps to address the situation. He emphasized that the continued attacks threaten the stability of the entire region and stressed the necessity of ensuring respect for international law.

In a related development, Amnesty International has called on the international community to take immediate action by imposing sanctions on Israeli officials involved in violations of international law. Additionally, UN experts have warned of escalating risks to Palestinian farmers during the olive harvest season due to increased settler violence and restrictions on land access.
