European Union initiatives focus on Balkan youth and enlargement

In North Macedonia, 35 representatives from civil society organizations in Kočani and surrounding municipalities participated in an information session regarding an EU call for support. The initiative, titled “Support for youth for economic empowerment and entrepreneurship in the Kočani region,” aims to provide direct financial support of 10,000 to 15,000 euros per project for 10-month activities. The funding focuses on digital skills, artificial intelligence, and youth entrepreneurship.

Separately, at the Peace and Democracy Summit in Kosovo, experts discussed the slow pace of European Union enlargement. Panelists addressed political obstacles, the loss of momentum in the integration process, and the importance of regional cooperation. Discussions included the structural limitations facing the EU and the potential for creating a new vision for Western Balkan membership, with contributors noting how various regional dynamics influence the integration rhythm.
