Eurovision Song Contest 2027: Switzerland and Germany begin selection processes

Preparations for the Eurovision Song Contest 2027 are underway in several European nations. In Switzerland, the broadcaster SRG SSR has officially opened the submission window for entries. The application period remains open until September 7th at 11 PM CEST via the broadcaster's digital platform. Switzerland will continue its practice of internal selection, utilizing a jury composed of national and international experts alongside an international fan jury. Norwegian songwriter and producer Lasse Nymann, who contributed to Switzerland's 2024 winning entry “The Code”, is leading the expanded search for artists and songs.

In Germany, the broadcaster SWR is adopting a new approach for the 2027 selection process. A music team consisting of experts and professionals will be tasked with identifying a lineup for the national preliminary round. This strategy involves proactively contacting industry professionals to suggest potential acts across various genres, including indie pop, rock, soul, and R&B.
