National broadcasters have begun initiating selection processes for the 2027 Eurovision Song Contest.

In Switzerland, SRG SSR has opened a submission window for entries through September 7th. The country will utilize an internal selection process involving national and international expert juries, as well as an international fan jury. In Germany, the broadcaster SWR is implementing a new strategy where a music team of professionals will proactively identify potential acts across genres such as indie pop, rock, soul, and R&B for the national preliminary round.

Additionally, CBC/Radio-Canada has launched a nationwide search to select Canada’s first-ever representative for the contest, which is scheduled to take place in Bulgaria. The search, open to Canadian citizens and permanent residents aged 18 and older, aims to find a “magnetic” performer. The final selection will be decided through a combination of a digital public vote and a music-industry jury review.
