Eurozone trade surplus reaches €8.6 billion in June
The Eurozone recorded a significant trade surplus of €8.6 billion in June 2026, a notable recovery from a €9 billion deficit in May. This rebound was driven by a 14.4% annual increase in goods exports, totaling €272.5 billion, while imports rose by 13.1% to €264 billion. Key drivers included higher surpluses in chemicals, industrial goods, food, and beverages, despite an increased energy deficit. However, the first-half surplus of €9.8 billion remains significantly lower than the €82.2 billion recorded during the same period in 2025.
In Hungary, industrial production saw a year-on-year increase of 10.1% in June 2026. This growth was largely fueled by a strong performance in exports, which rose by 11.5%. Specifically, the manufacture of transport equipment and computer, electronic, and optical products saw substantial export growth. While industrial output decreased slightly compared to May, the annual trend remains positive, supported by robust manufacturing and export activity.
