Evan Rachel Wood details abuse allegations against Marilyn Manson

Actress Evan Rachel Wood has shared detailed accounts of physical and psychological abuse she alleges she suffered during her relationship with musician Marilyn Manson, whose legal name is Brian Warner. In a podcast interview, Wood described traumatic incidents, including being tied to a kneeler and being struck with a whip, as well as being subjected to electric shocks. She noted that the relationship, which began when she was 18, involved significant control and isolation.

Wood also addressed the impact of her public allegations on her career, family, and personal security. She recounted an alleged sexual assault during the filming of the 2007 music video ‘Heart-Shaped Glasses’.

Manson has denied the allegations, describing them as ‘terrible distortions of reality’ and maintaining that his intimate relationships were consensual. In January 2025, following a four-year investigation, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s office announced it would not file criminal charges against Manson. Prosecutors stated that domestic violence claims were outside the statute of limitations and that sexual assault allegations could not be proven beyond a reasonable doubt, though they acknowledged the courage of the women who came forward.
