Abuse allegations against Marilyn Manson

Actress Evan Rachel Wood has provided detailed accounts of alleged physical, psychological, and sexual abuse suffered during her relationship with musician Marilyn Manson (Brian Warner). Wood described traumatic incidents involving physical violence, such as being struck with a whip or subjected to electric shocks, and noted a pattern of control and isolation.

Manson has denied these claims, calling them ‘terrible distortions of reality’ and asserting that his relationships were consensual. While the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s office announced in January 2025 that it would not file criminal charges due to statutes of limitations and evidentiary issues, Wood has continued to share further details.

In subsequent accounts, Wood characterized a discrepancy between Manson’s public persona and his private behavior. She also revisited a 2014 allegation involving a graphic sexual threat made against her son, a claim previously noted in 2021 court documents. Wood also speculated on the psychological dynamics of the relationship, suggesting Manson’s stage persona may have served to bolster his self-esteem.
