Evantia Rempoutsika electrifies Attica Roots Festival at Athens' National Archaeological Museum garden

The Attica Roots Festival opened its inaugural season with a free open‑air concert in the garden of Athens' National Archaeological Museum. Composer and violinist Evantia Rempoutsika led the performance, taking the audience on a musical journey that blended Eastern Mediterranean heritage with contemporary composition.

Highlights included the upbeat opening "The Wedding Dance", a moving rendition of "Morning Prayer" by guest vocalist Sofia Zova, and the historically resonant piece "Exit 1922". The program also featured works such as "Aroma of Cinnamon" and "Alexandria", creating vivid cinematic soundscapes under the night sky. Attendees responded with enthusiastic applause, describing the evening as magical and deeply moving.

The concert marked the first edition of the Attica Roots Festival, a new cultural initiative of the Attica region that aims to host summer events at historic sites throughout Greece.
