Everton bids €40m for Bayer Leverkusen striker Christian Kofane
Everton have submitted a formal opening bid of about €40 million for 19‑year‑old Cameroon international Christian Kofane, who currently plays for Bayer Leverkusen. The offer follows reports that his agent was seen at Everton’s Finch Farm training ground and that manager David Moyes has expressed strong interest. Kofane moved from Albacete to Leverkusen for €5 million last July and has logged 44 Bundesliga appearances with seven goals and nine assists, while also earning six caps for Cameroon.
The transfer window sees several other clubs – including Arsenal, Barcelona, Newcastle United, Chelsea and Bayern Munich – monitoring the forward. Analysts note that the price exceeds the player’s top‑flight output, describing the deal as a high‑risk gamble for Everton as they seek a reliable striker to replace under‑performing attackers.
