Everton targets Tottenham midfielder Pape Matar Sarr

Everton is reportedly considering a summer transfer for Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Pape Matar Sarr as a long-term replacement for Idrissa Gueye, who recently joined the Saudi Pro League club Al-Diriyah.

Tottenham is said to be open to a deal in the region of £21 million, excluding performance-related add-ons. Sarr, a 23-year-old Senegal international, finds himself at a career crossroads following increased competition in the Tottenham midfield due to the arrivals of Sandro Tonali and Mateus Fernandes. During the 2025–26 season, Sarr started only 13 Premier League matches.

Several other clubs have expressed interest in the midfielder, including Nottingham Forest, Brentford, Galatasaray, Aston Villa, and Al-Ahli. Although Sarr is under contract with Tottenham until 2030, the club appears willing to entertain offers to streamline their squad.
