EVNNPT accelerates four key power projects for Northern Vietnam

The National Power Transmission Corporation (EVNNPT) is accelerating four critical power projects to ensure electricity supply for Northern Vietnam. Acting General Director Hoang Xuan Khoi recently inspected the progress of several key infrastructure sites.

The projects include the 500 kV substations in Hai Phong, Thai Binh, and Bac Ninh, along with the 220 kV Yen Dung substation. While significant construction milestones have been reached—such as land clearance and the completion of various structural components—the projects face several challenges.

Key obstacles include delays in bidding processes for equipment procurement and difficulties in sourcing construction materials like leveling sand. At the Thai Binh 500 kV substation, efforts are underway to resolve these issues to ensure completion before the 2027 heat season. Similarly, the Hai Phong project is working through challenges related to primary and secondary equipment procurement packages.
