Croatia indicts man for murder of food delivery driver

In Croatia, the Šibenik County State Attorney's Office has filed an indictment against 50-year-old Kristijan Aleksić for the murder of 19-year-old food delivery driver Luka Milovac in Drniš. The incident occurred on May 16, 2026, when Aleksić allegedly shot the victim without provocation using an illegally manufactured firearm. Prosecutors are seeking an extension of his investigative detention, citing risks of flight and recidivism. Aleksić, who has five prior convictions including a 1994 murder, faces up to 50 years in prison.

In a separate regional criminal matter, Croatian authorities arrested a 33-year-old Slovenian national on an Interpol warrant issued by Montenegro. He is suspected of money laundering involving nearly 3 million euros and links to the Škaljari criminal clan. Investigators allege the group was involved in smuggling 380 kilograms of cocaine from Latin America into the European Union.

Additionally, in Montenegro, a 31-year-old U.S. citizen from New York has been charged after allegedly firing a gun into the air during a wedding celebration in Plav. Police seized a gas pistol and ammunition during a search of his residence.
