Expert report released in Eyüp Can Güner death investigation

An expert report has been submitted in the court case regarding the death of 12-year-old Eyüp Can Güner, who was found dead in a passage in the Anamur district of Mersin. The report suggests that while the death resulted from a fall, the fall may have been caused by pressure applied to the upper part of the body.

The incident occurred in the early hours of July 29, 2025. According to allegations and security footage, a 24-year-old suspect, N. U., chased the child, who was working at a local doner shop. Following the chase, the child was found motionless on the ground floor of the Osman Sinanoğlu passage. An autopsy revealed head trauma, bone fractures, cuts, and internal organ injuries.

During the fourth hearing at the Anamur High Criminal Court, the defendant, N. U., maintained his previous statement that he did not see the child in the passage. The court has granted time for parties to provide statements regarding the expert report and has adjourned the trial until October 15.
