Explosion at Salinetas fuel tank kills one, injures several in Gran Canaria

A fuel‑tank explosion at the Salinetas industrial park in Telde, Gran Canaria, caused the death of a 35‑year‑old worker and left two others seriously injured. Police National opened an investigation, citing a possible technical failure in the tank’s safety system. Emergency services—including firefighters, medical teams and police—were deployed, and authorities urged residents to avoid the area while the scene was secured.

In Cuernavaca, Morelos, a gas‑pipe blast injured 21 people, burned four vehicles and damaged 32 homes. Local civil‑protection units contained the fire and cordoned off the site, while the state governor asked the public to stay clear of the area.

In Haina, San Cristóbal Province of the Dominican Republic, an explosion of a fuel‑laden tanker truck killed two people and seriously injured a third. Emergency responders treated the victims and began an investigation into the cause of the blast.
