Within days similar incidents were reported elsewhere: a fuel‑tank blast at the Salinetas industrial park in Gran Canaria, Spain, killed one worker and seriously injured two; a gas‑pipe rupture in Cuernavaca, Mexico, injured 21 people and damaged homes and vehicles; and a fuel‑laden tanker truck explosion in Haina, Dominican Republic, killed two people and injured a third. The series of accidents shows a pattern of hazardous fuel‑related explosions occurring across multiple countries within a short period, prompting investigations into safety systems and emergency responses.
