Serbia and Montenegro advance agricultural and international event preparations
Various regional developments and preparations for international events are underway in Serbia and Montenegro. In Serbia, the Association of Beekeeping Organizations has announced the 13th State Beekeeping Fair, scheduled for February 13–14 at the Belgrade Fair. The event will feature expert lectures, including a session by Professor Emeritus Stephen Martins on combating the Varroa mite.
Preparations for EXPO 2027 in Belgrade continue, with technical meetings involving delegates from 43 countries to coordinate the construction of national pavilions. Local authorities, including representatives from Zlatibor, are working to integrate regional tourism and traditions into the exhibition. However, some local commentary has criticized the high cost and political undertones of EXPO-branded souvenirs appearing in Belgrade.
In Montenegro, Minister of Agriculture, Forestry, and Water Management Vladimir Joković announced continued investment in the northern region. Speaking at an agricultural fair in Berane, he highlighted over 10 million euros in recent investments, including the new House of Agriculture and flood protection infrastructure on the Lim River, aimed at supporting local producers.
